How to incorporate a website into your curriculum:
There are many different ways to incorporate a website like Weebly, Wix, or Google Sites into your curriculum. A website can be used to assess student learning and gather evidence of students' abilities just like a traditional project, presentation, or portfolio would. See the following examples of how to incorporate a website into the curriculum:
- ePortfolio- Students store materials from their class and/or program in one place in a professional format.
- Research Project and/or Presentation- Instead of completing a traditional written research report and oral presentation, have students compose their research into a website. Make sure students still cite their resources on a references page on their website.
- Class Website- Create a class website together and update it weekly with new content from each lesson. Have students take turns editing the website.
- Business Website- Individually or in groups, have students create a fake website for a business. What information should be included to represent the business? What is the purpose of the website for the business: marketing to customers, providing information for employees, or both?
